2.  We just returned from a few days at our favorite family retreat, the Great Wolf Lodge.  Feeling like we could use some family time without the interruptions of work, school, modern technology, and daily life, we planned a short getaway.  Sometimes it’s just necessary to click the refresh button on life. 

3.  A few days away and suddenly it’s spring time.  I hate to be a realist, but it is mid-March.  These temps can’t possibly be here to stay.  Let’s hope they are, but regardless, I’ll be enjoying the next 10 days (or more) with the windows open.

4.  With the windows open this evening I was reminded of some of my favorite spring sounds:  the kids talking and laughing outside in their endless imaginative play, the sound of their Power Wheels vehicles humming as they make laps around the house, the birds chirping, and even lawn mowers in the distance.

5.  Due to feeling refreshed from the time away and the beautiful weather we’re having, I feel the need to do some spring cleaning and get organized.  Unlike the rest of the world, New Year’s doesn’t do much in the way of resolutions for me.  I seem to be more inspired once open window weather starts.  I just hope I still feel that way tomorrow because I have a lot of work to do. 

6.  Some of my favorite memories from the GWL trip:  Mykenzi isn’t a fan of the Tornado, and I can’t say I am either after 2 tries; I noticed Mykenzi speaking to other children more; Her confidence also showed as she took off to climb up to slides without us trailing behind, even relaxing enough to lay down on the very slides she was terrified of trying just a year ago; Camden LOVES the water, and just takes off swimming, splashing, floating, sliding, and dunking his face to get his hair wet; whenever Camden came up from the water he reminded me of a photo of my father as a child with his hair slicked back; Cam and I logged a lot of good quality time racing the rest of the family in the lazy river; Cohen is more cautious like his sister, about everything, including water, and clung to Jonmark and I most of the time, only indulging in the baby pool slides in short spans; Cohen tried the big tube slides with Jonmark, said he liked them after the first try, but didn’t want to go again; Cohen was slow to warm up to the waterpark and even though he appeared to enjoy himself after loosening up, he was done with the waterpark very quickly everytime.

7.  Oh, and I don’t want to forget that I actually beat Jonmark in putt-putt.  As Camden proudly exclaimed after sinking a putt each time, SCORE!  Camden surprised us by beating his siblings in duckpin bowling, and I guess I can admit that Jonmark beat me at that.

8.  It looks like I’m running out of time to adjust to the new Facebook timeline appearance on my business page.  Ugh!  Not happy about that at all.  I’m not posting enough on there either and now it’s all about to change, so I need to set aside some time to figure it all out. 

9.  I plan to do a more detailed post about a few changes this year, but mainly it’s just that session fees are now due at the time of booking and there has been a slight increase in fees and print prices.

10.  The calendar is open for spring and summer sessions if you’re ready to book your session!

We’re cheering on the Giants this year, even though the Redskins beat them twice. As in previous years though, what we really want to know, is who you think will be the Super Bowl champions this year. Why do we care? Believe it or not, it’s really fun for us. Every day we’re all anxious to see who submitted entries and which team is in the lead. This contest will be just like last year, but just in case you’re new here, you can read below for the details, and I hope you’ll participate in this Super Bowl inspired contest/giveaway!

Send an email to christi@christisullivanphotography.com stating who you think is going to win the Super Bowl, and you will receive a $20 credit, except the winner who will receive a full session.

If your team wins, you will be entered for a chance to win a free session. Each entry for each team will be numbered consecutively (in the order received). I will inform you of your number within the day (upon receiving your email/entry), and on Monday, February 6, I will post the entry winning number chosen by a random number generator.

You have until 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feburary 5 to submit your entry.

The $20 credit and free session must be used by November 30, 2012. The credits and free session can be applied to any type of session: maternity, newborn, babies/children, family, etc.

Just to recap, the winner will receive a free full session with a CD of high resolution images, and all other entries will receive a $20 credit that will be placed in your account, ready to be applied to your next session fee in 2012.
